Training update
18 more sleeps to ironman.
Haven't made many posts lately. That's because not much has been going on, other than some massive weeks of training. So, for the most part, it has been a struggle just to get all the training in, sleep, make it to work, buy groceries, cook dinner, see the odd movie, etc. That last three weeks, especially, have been quite large, with 3 swims, 4 bikes and 5 runs ... getting in roughly 11k, 400k and 65k, respectively each week. It's all in the bank now! I'm into the first stage of the taper now. This week is only slighly less, next week is considerably less and the final week will involve a lot of sitting around. Looking quite forward to it all. Should be a fun time in NZ, with a good crew from our tri club racing, brother J racing, mom and dad and lynn and a bunch of other friends of friends cheering us on. Anyone else in NA fancy a long weekend in New Zealand?

Wow! You found time to watch movies? Good on ya, I'm just hoping by next week to be able to plan more than one lesson in advance and stop burning the candle at 3 ends. I really suited the permanent vacation...work sucks! (I do love the teaching though) After IM with the 20+ hrs back it should be easy to keep up with the workload of being a new teacher right?
Seriously though, all good here. Looking forward to having you over here again and having a few days to chill with ya and the squad before race day.

mark, what *kind* of movies did you watch?
if so, that's not really tapering. hehe

Steve, Is that 1 hour from his first (04 Can) or 1 hour from this one? Yeah, Mark is my coach so I suspect my program is very similar to his. We'll see how it goes before I recommend his coaching services but he was cheap so I could afford him :-)
Kestrel Talon (red)...she could use some race wheels but the budget isn't there at the moment.
