the pre-race meal.
in my last two races, i've had a burger and fries the night before. and, i've had personal bests. i'm almost convinced there is something to this.
managed to get a 3rd place for my most recent effort ... and a nasty week-long cold .... tho, to put this in perspective, i regularly get 30th-40th place in the APS series of runs we have been doing ... so it's fair to say this doesn't represent melbourne's best runners. nonetheless, it's hardware, it's a PB and i'll take it.
don't let this picture fool you ... i was thrilled to get my trophy ... almost as thrilled as getting my 5th serving of home made apple crumble ...

... and i bet the guy on the left didn't ride 210k the day before ... but who's counting.

i had dimsum before a race once - let's just say that's not the best thing to have!

Congrats on the PB and hw!! As a chemist I'm skeptical about the pre race meal...(placebo?)... Now the week long cold may have something to do with that meal...just teasing (I did fish n chips a couple times when I started racing). Whatever works for you mate!
