Why does Harper even open his mouth?
Conservative Leader Harper does it again:
Harper under fire for comment on Bloc support of same-sex marriage
A "radical social change", is it? Someone, please explain this to me, 'cause I just don't get it. Umm, hello, human rights, equality?

Well, you'll get no disagreement from me that it was stupid, however I notice a certain bias in the selection of postings by the blogger on stupid things said by leaders of political parties in Canada, as if somehow the other parties leaders aren't also in the habit of saying completely stupid things.
Just a thought...

very good observation, indeed.
they all say boneheaded things. but, harper is the grand master bonehead, in my *biased* opinion. i actually had some respect for harper about 6 months ago when he said something to the effect that "let's propose something that all canadians can appreciate" with respect to the same sex unions. but, that never surfaced, as far as I can tell. and, his true feelings came out the other day.
paul is just dopey. he says boneheaded things by default, which suits him well as chretien's successor. they just aren't as offensive, that's all.

"Screw the Red Book... Don't tell me what's in the Red Book. I wrote
the goddamned thing. And I know that it's a lot of crap."
Paul Martin, criticizing those who dared to mention the Red Book after
he abandoned the book of popular promises the Liberals once
used.
