P3: 650s or 700s?
OK, can anybody give some comments on whether I should salvage a bunch of 650 parts from my old Cervelo ... or entirely bail on that and go to 700s?
Any comments, concerns, novel points of view welcome.
Yeah, CSC is looking good. Too bad about Zabriskie ... that hurts in just about every possible way.

Well depending on the sizes of your front and rear gears, you will probably have to change at least one of them out. You know the math that follows from the larger wheel sizes and gearing ratios.

Be a man. Go with the 700Cs, get a 54T chainring, and put a 12-23 on the back. That should be enough gear for you. The level of comfort should be higher on the bigger wheels, leaving you fresher for the run.

I think he has to go with the 700Cs, the point is that he is moving his gear over from the his old bike, which had 650Cs, so if he keeps the same gearing ratio, he is going to have push extra hard to keep the same cadence on the same gear, which is fine, unless you're on one mother of a hill, in which case you quickly run out of gears :-(

(I guess I'm going to have to start signing these things, if other people are going to post Anonymously)

So which choice was made and why? BTW, which bike are you reconstructing...
Finally, did you leave room for a baby seat, sounds like it's going to be necessary in the not to distant future........
